The Spell

Chapter 8

"She can't act like the way she did before if she wants to be friends with us again" Davy said as he folded up the newspaper he was reading.

"She won't," I said. "She will be better this time please!!"

"Okay, but it is really up to Peter" Micky said.

"I guess" Pete said, "I don't know, sure why not?"

So I walked outside and told Amy that she could come back but it would be hard at first. I followed her in the pad. Everyone looked at her like she had 3 heads or something. Then they all went back to what they were doing, trying to act like they didn't care that she was there. I could tell they were a bit taken aback that she actually came back. Peter and Jesse were still sitting on the couch watching TV together. Jesse's head was on Peter's shoulder. Amy looked at them then quickly looked away and avoided looking that way for the rest of the night. Amy walked over to Davy and whispered something in his ear. They both got up and walked outside on the porch. I couldn't see them anymore because they were hidden by the bushes. The phone rang and I picked it up.

"Hello" I said trying to disguise my voice.

Everyone looked at me waiting to tell them what the phone call was about. The person on the other end of the phone just talked and talked. I finally got to hang up the phone.

"Well what did they say, what did they say?" Mike said while getting up and walking over towards me.

"The blabbermouth on the other end of the phone was some girl named Hope" I said, "I have no idea who she was but she seems to know Davy."

"Oh yeah Hope" Peter said "He was talking about her the other day, her dad opened this new restaurant."

"She said you guys gotta go up there tomorrow to like try out or something like that," I said while grabbing a handful of grapes out of the fridge.

"What time?" Davy said as he grabbed a couple of grapes out of my hand.

"Hey!" I said "It is at 10:00, oh can I go?"

"Sure thing" Micky said as he took the few remaining grapes from my hand.

We all finally drifted asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night, I heard some people talking so I got up and tiptoed to the kitchen. I saw Micky and Mike sitting at the table. They were talking about something; I really couldn't tell what they were saying. I got as close as the fridge but Mike saw me and stopped talking. I walked in the kitchen and sat in the empty chair.

"What's wrong guys?" I said trying to talk as quietly as I could.

"Well Davy's birthday is coming up soon and we were just trying to decide what to do" Mike said

"Oh" I said, "I thought something was wrong. What do you usually do?"

"We just usually have a party at the pad. Something boring like that," Micky said while putting his blanket over my shoulders and his.

"What do you wanna do this year?" I asked.

"Something really special! I just can't think of anything good enough" Mike said while fidgeting with his hat.

"How bout we go on a road trip? I don't know where but somewhere cool" I suggested while I looked out the window.

I got up and walked over to the couch and jumped on the cushions and started walking around on the furniture.

"What are you doing?" Micky said as he yawned.

"I have a lot of energy right now," I said as I jumped up in the air.

"You are crazy when you have a lot of energy," Mike said as he stood up and started walking over towards the couch.

Micky and Mike started walking over near me. I jumped up really high and I almost fell and hurt myself but Mike caught me.

"I knew that was going to happen," he said as he handed me to Micky. "Go put her to bed"

Micky carried me into my room and threw me down on the bed.

"Good night" he said as he kissed me on my forehead.
