Season Highlights

FOOTBALL:
  • The team were named the section academic champs
  • They beat Burnsville for the first time in several decades
  • Jason Frank, Travis Gerjets, Tom Revak, Rob Satrom, and Zak Wilske all made All-Conference.


VOLLEYBALL:
  • The Girls' took home a third place trophy from the State tournament
  • Kelly Skaro was named to the 1999 All-State Volleyball team


GIRLS SWIMMING AND DIVING
  • Section 1AA Champs!
  • Sr. Heidi Willemssen took second and Sr. Sheena Volkmer took fourth at the State Diving tournament.
  • Alisha Cowell, Abby Fitzpatrick, Stacy Jereczek, Sheena Volkmer, Heidi Willemssen were all All-Conference winners.


OTHER ALL-CONFERENCE WINNERS:
  • Boys Soccer:Tim Vossen, Chris Gangl
  • Girls Soccer:Jenny Ford, Kaylee Booth
  • Tennis:Megan Curran


COMPETITION CHEERLEADING:
  • Took FIRST in state for the second year in a row.
  • Placed 17th at the National Competition.
  • Sr. Amy Fitzpatrick and Sr. Amanda Giles win the MN Competition Cheerleading Academic Award.


GYMNASTICS:
  • Won the Section 1AA Competition as well as the Conference Title
  • Ranked #1 in the nation
  • Had several team members named "All-American Elite":Kelli Nygren, Nikki Terbilcox, Josse Ellingson, Bekah Yetzer, Jenny Braun and Emily Kaping.
  • The Panthers scored the highest score in a post-season meet in MSHSL Gymnastics History with a score of 153.575 at the Section 1AA meet.
  • Sr. Kelli Nygren placed first and Sr. Nikki Terbilcox placed second in the Section 1AA All-Around Competition
  • Won 6th consecutive State Title.
  • Sr. Kelli Nygren placed second in the All-Around Individuals (after a tie breaker), Sr. Nikki Terbilcox placed 6th in the all-around competition.
  • Sr. Kelli Nygren placed 4th on beam, 2nd on floor, first on bars and first on vault at the State Competition
  • Sr. Nikki Terbilcox placed fifth on bars at the State Meet
  • Soph. Jenny Braun placed fourth on bars at the State Meet
  • Section Academic Champs.


WRESTLING:
  • Section 1AA Runner-up
  • Best win record in team history.
  • Soph. Sam Donner and Soph. Lance Stanghor competed as individuals in the State Tournament


GIRLS' HOCKEY:
  • Section 1AA Runner-up
  • Section 1AA Academic Champs
  • Sr. Carly Danek winner of All-State Academic Award.


BOYS' SWIM AND DIVE:
  • Section 1AA Champs
  • Jr. Ryan Peddycourt placed 1st in State in the 100 butterfly!
  • Placed 14th in the State Tournament


BOYS' HOCKEY:
  • Section 1AA Runner-up


GIRLS' BASKETBALL:

  • Frosh. Bekah Yetzer placed third in the 1600M at the state meet
  • Frosh. Sammie Laatsch placed ninth in the 300 hurdles
  • Sr. Kelli Nygren placed ninth in the triple jump
  • Frosh. Liz Podomonick took tst place in the shot put.


OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS:
  • Sr. Jenny Jones was crowned Miss Teen Minnesota.
  • Srs. Kearney Quinn and Heidi Willemssen were this year's Homecoming King and Queen.
  • Srs. Brian Lindsay and Emily Kaping were LHS's winners of the "AAA" award
  • Sr. Julianna Simon placed 9th and Soph. Jiabei Chen placed 10th at the state debate tournament.
  • Science Olympiad won their sixth straight State Championship.
  • Science Olympiad placed third in the nation.
  • Sr. Janelle Weller was crowned Miss Lakeville 2000.
