Point(P)1:...the Honeydogs are here!
P2:Yea!
P1:Yeah!
P2:Say "hi" Honeydogs
Honeydogs (HD):Hi
P1:Alright...welcome you guys and we're going to talk to you in a second...(weather)
Okay, let me see if I have this straight, I'm nitoriously hidieous at names but we've got Adam, right?
Adam:Right.
P:Adam, okay. Let me think, we've got Brian. Got Brian. And Noah, Noah, Noah!
Noah:That'll be me!
P:And Trent, alright. You know what, tell us Adam, where you guys are all from.
Adam: Uh, Noah and I are from Saint Paul...
P:Okay
Adam:Trent's from Inver Grove, Inver Grove Heights, right?
Trent: Yeah.
Adam:And Brian, where're you from?
Brian: Bloomington
P: Wow, they're all uh...
P2:See, you notice how most of them are from the east side, where all the cool guys are from?
(laughs)
P:Oh, whatever.
P2: East siders rule! I'm telling you...
P:Yeah, whatever. You know what, you have something in common with, actually, with a...with Adam.
P2:Who's the KISS fan?
P: Right there.
Adam: Right here.
P2:That you?
P: There ya go.
P2:Who's your favorite?
Adam: Uh, wow...I'd say I love Gene Simmons.
P2:Right on! Gene Simmons is my favorite too. Cool, we're bonding. I like it.
P: Oh yeah, that's very special. I couldn't be happier about that for you...
P2: Yeah, whatever...
P:...Tell us, how, now...you guys habe an interesting history which I don't completely understand becuase there was a time when Martin Zellar was invovled. Or am I wrong about that?
Adam: Yeah, we played with Martin Zellar for a little while.
Noah: Adam and I did.
Adam:Yeah..actually it was Alcomino.
P:Alcomino? Okay.
Noah: Actually, we had his backing band...originally. We were his backing band and the rest of the band was with Adam and I.
P: Okay.
Adam:Does that make sense?
P:Yes, then you kind of split a part...
Noah: split a part
P:...and then came back together and formed the Honeydogs?
Adam:Right.
P:Right? Two members from Alcomino and then the other two people, right?
Adam: Right, Nic Ciola from Martin's band played with us on out first record and Jon Duncan, the keyboard player, also played with us.
P: And all, pretty much local. I know you guys tour a lot.
Adam:Yep.
P:In fact, I was readin a...some information that said since 1995 you'be been doing about 200 shows a year?
Trent:That was kind of an exaggeration.
P:Kind of? Kind of? How much of an exaggeration?
Trent:About 50 shows.
P:Oh, okay.
Trent: But no, um...
P:You do 50 or...
Trent: No, no. Last year we didn't tour as much but we did a stunt last year where it was 50 shows in like 60 days so...
P:Wow, and you're big in Canada? Adam:We're huge in Canada.
P:And you have a following there?
Adam: Well, we're doing okay in Canada. We haven't been there too often, but yeah, people seem to like us there.
P:Now, tell us about this song "I Miss You", it's been around since when?
Adam: Wow, that's the...
Trent: It's like 7 years old.
Adam:That's a 7 year old song, so uh...in some ways, the sentiment of the song feels like I was in another place and time when I wrote it.
P:Now, were uo personally surprised when you heard it again, being played on this particular radio station?
Adam:Uh, very, very surprised considering the records been out for a bit now. So that means it's really nice to haveit played again.
P:Now did somebody...
Adam: We were surprised.
P:Did somebody call you and say "hey, the point is playing that record" or did you hear it?
Adam:Somebody told me they were playing it and I kind of doubted it at first but the reports kept coming in so, yeah.
P2:How does it make you feel to know that it's like one of our most requested songs right now?
Adam: It's pretty unbelievable.
P:It's actually...
Adam:...it's awesome.
Noah:When we play it live, you feel it. It's very different all of a sudden.
HD:It's really wierd, the last 3 shows. It's almost like...isn't this the truth...every show is like people pogoing the same way where ever we paly this song.
(laughs)
P:It actually is the #1 testing song, above everything else we play right now. It is the most popular song on this radio station.
Noah: How do you test that?
P:Um, we just go out in the street and go "hey, you guys have ever heard of the Honeydogs? Give me a thumbs up if you like it, then we'll play it some more" (laughs)exactly, so now and you guys have a fairly recent addition, Brian.
HD:Right.
P:And you replaced Tommy?
Brian:Uh huh.
P:And where did they find you? Out of the street?
Brian:I've known these guys for a while, been around town...friends.
P:Have you been with other bands locally here and...
Brian:I've played with the Scott Laurent Band before-I mean Rampage.
(laughs)
...Peter...no Peter from those days...
P:Peter Borne?...Do you guys...
Adam:Yeah, he won the band contest at Saints...
HD:What was Rampage?
Brian:I got a video for you guys later
(laughs)
P:You want to hear something about Peter Borne who apparently you've worked with in a band? He owns the bat Mobile.
Brian:I've seen the Bat Mobile.
P:You have? Have you ever ridden in it?
Brian:No, he didn't like it.
P:Oh, okay.
P2:See there you go, you blow the secret cover again. He doesn't even need the mask next time.
Noah:Is the bat mobile a mopar(?)?
P:Uh, Lincoln. It's a Lincoln, now we learned something.v HD:Let's do the car talk later, next hour. P:That's right, okay, what's the lastest disc? Do you have one on the way? Or I know you already have one out now too.
Adam:We've been sitting o nit for a little while. We're kind of waiting for it to come out. We're hoping it will come out by like January at the latest.
P:And it's called?
Adam:"Here's Luck".
P:"Here's Luck", okay cool.
