The small, and almost insignificant
portion of the Namagunga compound, found
to the left of Mother Kevin School Library,
is what is called to as the ‘Silent Garden’.
I’ve heard, many times,
a friend say how out-of-this-world the place
is. Once in the garden, one can’t help but
agree. Dark pasparum carpets the slightly
sloping ground with a few almost evenly
scattered shrubs and small trees. The almost
permanent breeze keeps the place very
cool, even when the heat in the rest of school
is threatening to reach desert
levels.However, what actually makes the
‘Silent Garden’ seem so out-of-this-world is
the deep silence. Found nearly at the edge of
the school compound, the garden is outside
the radius of the hustle and bustle of school
activity.
