Project Proposal

In the Human Rights project we have our project proposal and an article written by two our students on student leadership in our school a copy of which is below.

We hope that the participating teams will write reports on the forms of student government inh their schools and exchange this information.

Project Title: Democracy in Schools and Homes.

The Idea of this project is to highlight the features of student leadership, electioneering and suffrage.

In the Homes it will focus on how the parties therein [Husband, wife and children] treat each other. That is, we shall analyse their atttitudes and the distribution of responsibilities.

This project will run in two phases:

1.Schools then

2.Homes.

1.Title:

Democracy in Schools.{FOCUS Mt. St. Marys Namagunga SSS}

Aims:

To analyse the duties of the student leadership and the role of the Staff

in this process.

To assess the method of putting student leaders in office,

To identify those eligible for candidature

Objectives:To answer the questions

[a] are the fundamental human rights respected in this kind of leadership?

[b] Is the communal good served in this kind of leadership?

Audience:

Students aged between 10and 18 years

Schedule:

February 15 to March 15

Reports on Student government formations

March 15 to April 15

Reports on Electioneering

April 15 to May 15

Reports on suffrage

June 15 to August 15 Phase II (To be Detailed later)

Activties:

-Students will be involved in the collection of data concerning their

student government.

-Students will be required to submit data on the electioneering in and

eligibility of candidates and voters in their school.

-There shall be exchange of the above .These views will be exchanged via

E-mail. The reports exchanged should be of between 100 and 300 words sent

the participating schools.
