1. Project Title:

Women in Mathematics Project.

2. Project idea:

This project aims at highlighting the problems affecting the effective training of females in the discipline of Mathematics in the world today and proposing solutions to these problems.

3. Age level of Project participants:

This project is open to all age goups.

4. Stating Date:

This project begins on 20th Febrruary 1999

5. Proposed ending date:

Project ends on 20th August 1999.

6. Activities:

Participants will write and exchange e-mail reports of between 200 - 700 words on:

Problems experienced at Primary Level and their solutions; Problems experienced at Secondary level and their solutions; and Problems experienced at tertiary institutions and their solutions.

7. Expected outcome: A handbook comprising Problems and solution to women in Mathematics will be compiled and copies distributed to the the participating schools/individuals. 8. Contribution:

The solutions to the highlighted problems will go a long way to help the female population and also help to conscientise those who would fall prey to the highlighled problems. This will in turn ensure a peaceful co-existence of males and females in the discipline of Mathematics the world over.
