8 Heads In A Duffel Bag
(1996)
When wiseguy Tommy Spinelli (Joe Pesci) is charged with transporting a bag full of heads to his employer in beautiful San Diego, an identical-bag snafu inevitably occurs at baggage claim. The heads touch down in Mexico in the possession of an overworked, vacationing medical student and madcap, macabre, capital humor ensues. Charlie (Andy Comeau) is supposed to be vacationing with the uptight family of his fiance (Kristy Swanson), but accidentally takes the evidence of a hitman's fine work. So Pesci "persuades" Charlie's two roommates (David Spade and Todd Louiso) to find replacements at the med school. Written & directed by Tom Schulman (his first), with Comeau playing Charlie as a poor-man's Tom Hanks. But Pesci and Spade steal the comedy in their battle-of-the-wise-asses scenes.
Additional cast: George Hamilton of Zorro the Gay Blade, Dyan Cannon.
Produced by the creative team behind Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin. Kristy Swanson previously starred in MonsterVision classic Deadly Friend, and also appeared in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie (1992)
