Sounds like a cheesy Irwin Allen disaster flick starring Lorne Greene, but it’s actually a cheesy Roger Corman disaster flick starring Lorne Greene. Roger bought a movie from Japan, dubbed it poorly into English, then shot new footage that appears to have been added into the original film in a totally random manner. Adding to the “unintentionally hilarious” proceedings are special effects that appear to have been made by splashing around in a bathtub.© Bill Laidlaw. All Rights Reserved.
The original title was “Submersion Of Japan,” and probably makes more sense. Lorne Greene is better known for the Irwin Allen disaster flick Earthquake and the 1970s TV-series Battlestar Galactica.
