Muppets from Space

The Muppets blast off---and Gonzo the Great steps into his first starring role---in this 1999 extraterrestrial adventure.
On a quest to find his real family, Gonzo discovers that his long-lost relatives are actually from a distant planet, making him the target of a paranoid Government operative named K. Edgar Singer (Jeffrey Tambor)."
Joining Gonzo are Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Rizzo the Rat, Fozzie Bear, Animal and the rest of the Muppet characters.

One of the better Muppet features in recent years, MUPPETS FROM SPACE begins with Gonzo wondering where he came from and then promptly receiving messages from his alien brethren. Though the rest of the Muppet clan believe Gonzo insane, especially after he announces his revelation on Mrs. Piggy's talk show, he arouses the interest of an idiotic government official, which leads to his imprisonment. Kermit reluctantly realizes Gonzo is in trouble and brings his fellow Muppets to try and help him escape. This one features a soundtrack made up of mostly 70s funk and introduces 3 new Muppets including Pepe the prawn, who gets quite a few laughs.

Director: Tim Hill
Human cameos include Ray Liotta as the gate guard, Rob Schneider as a TV producer, Josh Charles as Agent Barker, Andie MacDowell as Shelley, David Arquette as Dr. Tucker, and F. Murray Abraham (as Noah, no less).
