A sudden rash of earthquakes have been plaguing Wyoming, and the agents are called in to investigate. Because of the fault line Artemus suspects Ellensville is the next town to be demolished and our heroes try to warn the residents. Along the way they are captured by Professor Orkney Cadwallader (Burgess Meredith) a scientist with a knack for creative use of nitro-glycerin and a megalomania complex to boot -- with ultimate control of Wyoming as his goal. Jim and Artie must escape and stop the crazed scientist before Wyoming is wiped off the map. Wild Wild West inherited a number of writers, directors and guest actors from The Twilight Zone, including Meredith (TZ episodes included Time Enough At Last, as an introverted bookworm who survives a nuclear war)
