PPPP--Pumpkin Patch Progress Pictures....

SEPTEMBER UPDATE....

THE PATCH IS SO BEAUTIFUL, I JUST CAN'T HELP BUT TAKE MORE PICTURES SO WILL SHARE A COUPLE DAILY ROUTINE ONES...

Many are asking already locally so decided to put up a sign at the end of the driveway with my 2006 hours...what a morning with the sun behind me, I CAN SEE MY SHADOW!

Every day, Max and I go FOR A RUN and as he runs, my hands guide him and the LAWN MOWER where I sit and ride! Almost seems like Max is training to be a SLED DOG but he just loves the run. Then as we go by, Sebastian loves to jump out at us from the cover of the bean field...sure FUN AT THE PATCH with these beautiful days leading up to a FANTASTIC OCTOBER!

Look how the PATCH has filled in during the past couple weeks! I don't remember so many flowers but this year they are huge and BEAUTIFUL every morning...they close by mid afternoon and bloom only once!

This shows how they are progressing...just a couple weeks ago the pumpkin was GREEN and now it's PERFECTLY ORANGE...
THE PUMPKIN PATCH TIME MUST BE GETTING NEAR!

I wish you could see the patch every morning with ALL THE FLOWERS that are blooming this year! The hot conditions of mid July sure didn't hurt the crop and we have been blessed with timely rains! So the FLOWERS are huge and beautiful and the BEES are out there as BUSY AND CAN BEE!

As the flowers continue to bloom, the PUMPKINS and the BUTTER CUP SQUASH pictured here CONTINUE TO GROW!

Everything is really growing! I missed a photo last week so very noticeable progress! In fact, some of the vines are starting to topple which means the space between the rows where I have been "weedin" in the GARDEN OF WEEDIN will start filling in soon. We had a nice shower of rain this morning too so that will really help!

Max has decided since he can't ride the tractor, he'll just lay here at the end of the row and keep an eye on things!

What a difference from June 24 to x,x,x,x,XXXXXXXx,x,x,x,x,x,xJuly 8th...UFFDA!

THE PUMPKINS ARE PLANTED FOR 2006 SO MAX WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW AND THERE ARE MORE PICTURES BELOW OF ALL THE ACTIVITIES!

LOOK WHATS HAPPENING BEHIND THE SCENES IN 2006 AS WE PREPARE FOR THE 22ND PATCH.........

It doesn't take long when the BIG JOHN DEERE rolls into the Patch to dig the dirt and prepare it for planting!

Here Larry fills the SEED CONTAINERS with the pumpkin seeds so the planter can do IT'S THING--PLANT!
(Max is supervising from the GREEN MACHINE!)

This year Rick, my neighbor and friend, helped me plant as Mike & Penny had many other family projects to work on. We planted the patch on June 4th in about 3 hours (by hand, it used to take a week!) Sometimes it looked as if Rick caught himself "COMING AND GOING!"

As Rick ended up, I got this picture of the CULTIVATOR waiting on the sidelines to help keep the grasses down once the pumpkins come up while Rick finished the planting.

When the day was done, I caught this picture of the TWO COUSINS, John Deere and Case--boy how JOHN HAS GROWN!

PROGRESS REPORT as of June 17...The pumpkins are up and growing FAST and it's already easy to ROW THE CROP!
