I'm Walking and Stumbling

I'm walking and stumbling
Through a deep crevace
To myself I am mumbling
How long will this last? |

I'm searching yes I'm searching
To find a way out
Just falling and lurching
And wand'ring about.

A slow movement above
catches my eye
Is that my love?
(Look up with a sigh)

I'm blinded by the sun
Smiling back at me
In the AM of one
How can this be?

Come on tired sight
Focus now, please
Is that your love in the night?
Or only a breeze

It's just her walking
Through the winds of my mind
I've got to keep talking
(Her body's so kind)

Talk her into showing
Me how to climb out
I've no way of knowing
If I'll ever get out

Because chasm is a crack
In my memory
(Lovers don't come back
Out of history)

"She'll never be there",
To myself I keep mumbling
But my mind doesn't care
So I'm walking and stumbling
