"I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from
the Savior of the world is communicated through this book...All things desirable
to men are contained in the Bible." --Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) 16th
President of the United States
Here are a few basic Bible study tips:
1. Pray to God by asking (Matthew 7:7) him for understanding and revelation
through the Holy Spirit (John 14:26).
2. Meditate on the Word day and evening (Joshua 1:8). You need food for
physical nourishment, right? Well, we need the Word for spiritual renewal.
3. Have fun and get together with others in a small group bible study. This will
help and encourage one another as they learn together (Acts 2:42).
4. Only a suggestion: Read the book of John in the New Testament and then start
in the beginning with Genesis of the Old Testament all the way through. With
this order, one can learn about the "Good News" of Jesus Christ and build a
foundation of the whole context of the Bible.
"Do not let this Book of the law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and
night, so that you may be careful to do (Matthew 7:14) everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful."-Joshua 1:8
