The Editor's Desk
Shana Tova! May the coming year be a good year for you and your family.
Well, we finally made it back online. What started out as a quick makeover ended up being quite an ordeal. Without into too much detail lets just say that it was more work than it looked like it was going to be when we started out. We had our Internet service provider go out of business and leave us unconnected. The next software package we loaded had a problem (the ISP software error message told us to contact them about the problem, but we were without a connection because the software wasn't working (does anyone see a problem here?) We emailed them from a different computer; after four weeks they still haven't responded. The next package is working now but had to be reloaded because it didn't work at first. Oh, did we mention, it was a lot more work than we thought it was going to be? So, if we sound a bit out of breath you know why. The makeover seems to be running pretty well. If anyone notices problems PLEASE let us know. We hope you don't find any but, hey we're only human, right?
The first thing that you probably noticed was that we disconnected many of the page links. The links on the contents page go to section openers where you can connect to the page of your choice. This will make it easier to prepare each issue. We won't have to re-connect the whole site in order to insert the new pages. It should also make it easier for you to browse. Let us know what you think. We hope you like it.
The TorahThoughts section is much fuller than it was the last time you saw it. We were able to obtain many past installments dating back to before we started running them. The StudyGuides are still a little thin, but now that the makeover is complete we hope to catch up. Our Features section has a new Prayerbook series starting up. And we have a (rather late) followup to our article on the so-called "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" being sold by Barnes and Noble under the Judaica section. Please do check this out. Our promised article on Morris Cerillo is still in the works. It should be out in a couple of months. And last but not least, we have a new column starting, "The Wondering Jew." If you like it and think you may want to contribute please email us your manuscript. (Please, Jews only. No "Jews for Jesus", "Hebrew Christians," Christian proselytizing, etc. This is a Jewish publication.)
We are glad to be back!
John
