May 10, 2001: Indian Mounds Elementary/Minnesota River Valley Hike (Bloomington)

Join the group for a hike through a portion of the Minnesota River Valley and the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

If driving:From Highway 77/Cedar Avenue, take the Old Shakopee Road/County Highway 1 southwest. Turn south (left) on Chicago Avenue, which junctions near where Old Shakopee Road curves west and joins 98th Street. Virtually immediately, at 98th Street, turn east (left) and proceed to 11th Avenue South. Turn south (right) on 11th Avenue South and park in the school parking lot.

If coming by public transit: Take Metro Transit route(s): 89; 552; 553. The closest bus service point appears to be the corner of Old Shakopee Road and Chicago Avenue. Applicable Metro Transit Map / Bus Schedule information

The group will reconvene at a nearby restaurant after the hike for dinner or dessert.
