Mexico Out Fights USA 2-1 to Win U.S. Cup
In front of a crowd of 50,324 at Qualcomm Stadium, the U.S. National Team lost 2-1 to rival squad Mexico. Mexico claimed the U.S. Cup '99 title. The loss was the USA's first since Bruce Arena took over. He now has a 3-1-2 record.

* U.S. Women's National Team Ties Sweden 1-1
The U.S. Women's National Team got an early goal from Tiffeny Milbrett, but could not find the net again, and battled the always scrappy Sweden National Team to a 1-1 tie in the opening match of the 6th Algarve Cup.
* U.S. U-20 Men in '99 FIFA World Youth Championship
At the final draw for the 10th FIFA World Youth Championship Friday in Abuja, Nigeria, the U.S. were drawn into Group E, and will face England (April 5), Japan (April 8), and Cameroon (April 11) in the tournament's opening round. The USA's opening match against England will be played in Kano, Nigeria, with the second and third matches to take place in Bauchi. The top two teams in each of the six opening groups, as well as the four best third-place teams, advance to the Round of 16.
* U.S. Under-21 Women's National Team Sweeps Two-Game European Tour With 5-3 Victory Over Denmark in Copenhagen 1
The United States Under-21 Women's National Team completed a two-game tour of Europe yesterday, defeating Denmark's U-21 National Team, 5-3, in match played on a full-sized indoor field because of freezing temperatures in Copenhagen.
