Royal Lingo:
Constitutional Monarch- Describes a sovereign who has to adhere to the laws and principles of state. The 1689 Bill of Rights coprised a conerstone of the British Constitution regarding Parliaments's control over the monarchy.
Equerry- Officer of the Royal household who attends to members of the Royal family.
Heir presumptive- Title accorded a successor whose claim may be set aside by the birth of another heir. An heir apparent, on the other hand, cannot be displaced in this way.
Primogeniture- Refers to the right of succession or inheritance that belongs to either a 1st born child or eldest son. This is why reigning monarchs are always despreate to sire offspring who will succeed them.
Queen's subjects- Refers to the citizens of Great Britain as well as the British Commonwealth. These even include the members of the Royal family. Only exception is the sovereign herself.
Regalia- Refers to the royal items that are employed at a coronation ceremony.
Vassals- People who took possession of land in return for alleginace and service to the monarch.
