Just posting some articles I thought were interesting, though they're both sortive old. D'Souza's shows that the left only reveals half-truths to the public in order to garner support for a cause and Williams' shows some of the low-down, dirty, rotten, mean tricks employed by the Democratic party in the last presidential election. It's interesting to note, that when they (the DFL) did that in the Pres. election, they lost, and when they did that in the most recent election, the 2002's, they lost as well. Are they just not getting the hint? What really galls me is that they do this so consistently and yet their own supporters either fail to realize what is happening, or cheer the half-truths and mudslinging on. Why is that? I'd be upset with the GOP if they screwed around like the DFL has. But whatever happened to being truly concerned with running a half-reasonable election between people. Why is this so difficult in today's society? Piff. Oh, and the new one that is up from Noyes is basically a collection of quotes from Mr. Gore when he ran for Pres. in 2000. They're funny considering what the reaction would be if Bush were to have been the one to say those things. Did you know he lost his home state of TN in the election? Wonder why that is?

MYTHS ABOUT THE FOUNDING
By Dinesh D’Souza
For me, president’s day is a good occasion to celebrate George Washington and the
American founding. Washington and the other founders who gathered in Philadelphia
wanted America to be a “new order for the ages,” and they have succeeded beyond
their imagining.

Racial Rope-A-Dope
By Walter E. Williams
Democrats have no constituency more loyal than black Americans. Much of that
loyalty is delivered by black elected officials, civil rights organizations and church
leaders such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. During the last election, these people did
a yeoman's job in getting out the black vote for Democrats. In doing so, there was
no strategy, even if disgusting, that wasn't employed toward that end.

So up tonight is the in-class essay I wrote under duress. It's published in the Writing section.

A second thought (haha): Elections 2002: What We Should Have Learned
By George C. Landrith
"With the exception of a few matters...the dust is settling from the 2002 midterm
elections. What can be learned from the elections? Sound public policy and
leadership beats good political gamesmanship. Here are some examples."

Heyhey, up tonight is an in-class essay that I had every intention of trashing but I managed a good grade so instead its life has been spared and it is appearing in the writing section.

Oh, and one of my friends e-mailed me this, http://doody36.home.attbi.com/liberty.htm go here, it's cool.

On a second topic: I have been collecting articles, fear not, there are only a few.

For the U.N., a Sudanese Slave is Not a Slave
By David G. Littman.
"On August 16, 2002, at the UN Sub-Commission on Human Rights in Geneva,
Ambassador Mubarak H. Rahamtalla denied that any « traditional slavery » existed in Sudan."

Could Israel die of thirst?
By Frank J. Gaffney, Jr.
"Last night, the Washington area was drenched overnight by a steady,
hours-long downpour...No such relief is in prospect for Israel...At the moment...
the Jewish State confronts a combination of forces -- a meteorological drought,
regional efforts to deny it access to water and misbegotten U.S. diplomacy --
that could threaten Israel's very existence."

The revolt against democrat snobbery
By Ben Shapiro
"If the 2002 midterm election made one point exceedingly clear, it is that a
growing majority of Americans hate having the Democrats patronize them."

The democratic mistake
By Michael Kelly
"The Democratic Party has come to believe its own propaganda."

All the sex a girl needs
By Ben Shapiro
"Teenage girls are now almost as likely to initiate sex as boys. So reported The New
York Times on Nov. 3, in a piece entitled "She's Got to Be a Macho Girl."...The
article highlights this new girls-as-aggressors phenomenon as "daring," a logical
outgrowth of women's "empowerment." But in truth, the new development reveals
the failure of the modern feminist movement."

I'd like to take the opportunity to send a "Thank you" to our former and current service men and women, what you've done for this country cannot be measured in words. Thank you so very much. (Nate, Geff, that includes the both of you. Take very good care of yourselves.)

Also today, from the Associated Press 33 Die As Storms Ravage South, East and A Look at Weekend Tornadoes in U.S.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Okay, this is up b/c M asked me to put this up and not to play with the articles section (she's a Die-Hard-Democrat and I'm one of those evil "facists") But!! We can still get along perfectly fine! For instance: Alan Rickman rules. He has a voice that could melt ice if he wanted it to. So yes. *ahem*

Also, 'twas required to read Hamlet and make an arguement, I don't think the paper is all that good but I picked up the highest grade that's possible, so that's been added to the Writing section.

Oh how we were grinning. People cheering in hotel rooms at the convention, people running around waving signs and playing pool in one of the resturants. People in suits and skirts while others hung out in t-shirts and jeans. Did I mention I had fun? Apparently, I looked like "death warmed over" in my last class of the day yesterday (I was up till 1 or 2 am). My assignments were in on time though! And in the end it was worth it. The John Kline people were really cool. They had vegetables and dip and free soda (how do you get to my heart? Through my nervous system when it's screaming for caffeine!)

Great job Mr. Tim Pawlenty on being the next Governor of the State of Minnesota. A request please: repeal the profiles of learning ('learning'). They are idiotic and waste money. Norm, congratulations on winning, please be good in the Senate. Play nicely with the other 50 Republicans. :o)

If anyone out there hates me, I would *totally* understand. I'd want to tear my lungs out if I were on the other side of this. Luckily I'm not, so I'm going to keep going with this. *smirk* Sorry M!!

Yes. So. If you ignore those last three paragraphs and just look at this one, the links here are my original reason for updating. Townhall.com has an Election Wire going and MSNBC put up Job 1 On The Hill which is an article about who's being placed where and what's happening (the short version).

Gun Control’s Twisted Outcome: Restricting firearms has helped make England more crime-ridden than the U.S. and I'm pushing this because it is very interesting to note that it is more dangerous to be in London than NYC. Thought you'd like to know. A very well written article, I really enjoyed it quite a bit.

That seems like a good update.

And to think I was amazed when it took me a month to update.

I've come back to vent frustrations and update. In that order *grin*.

As a citizen of the State of Minnesota, I'd like to say that, hell yeah, I'm very sad that Senator Wellstone died, his wife, daughter, campaign workers and pilots all perished. But I draw the line at turning memorial services into political rallies and btw, I HATED flipping 'round TV and finding cheering, screaming people, "WE WILL WIN" being chanted and other political bruhaha. It was disgusting, and an embarrassment. I may not like Ventura, but he definately had the right idea when he walked out. Good for him, I applaud. And I've just found the most perfect article to basically sum up everything in a way I'm currently incapable of doing. "Hijacking Grief" by Barbara Simpson. Keep up the good writing ma'am.

And for anyone who remained past that last paragraph, updates will be forthcoming. I've got an English class that runs the whole year and yes, I think I shall get my act together.
