Remembering Jeff

Jeff was a man who loved to fish and hunt! He cared for his family and friends very much. He enjoyed spending time with his 3 dogs (Toby, Rosie, and Dutch). He loved going to watch his step-children participate in the High School Marching Band with his wife Janet. If he wasn't fishing or hunting he was at marching band. Jeff meant a lot to me as well as the rest of my family. I got to know Jeff when he moved in with us when I was about 8 or 9 years old. Together we went fishing, played catch, listened to music, and many other things that I remember. I tried helping him with his job, well... basically tagged along and bugged him more than anything... but I know he liked it!
I remember just this past summer Jeff and I went fishing, I remember us talking about when he lived with us and the times we had together. It brought back lots of good memories that I will never forget!!! Then Prom rolls around and Jeff gets a phone call from his little cousin. "Jeff, I got a big favor to ask you....can I take your truck to prom?" Without thinking twice he said, "Yea...sure!!" I went over to pick it up, and he had to go get his camera to take a picture of us. I could tell he was happy to see me all grown up from what I was back when he lived with us.
I was fortunate that I got to sit by and talk to Jeff about the good things in life, what mattered the most. He made it known that he cared for every one of us and that he didn't want us to feel sorry for him but instead be glad and thankful for the times that we all shared with him. Jeff passed on Sunday, January 27, 2002.
Shall we not be sad but rejoice, knowing that you are in a better place!

I will never forget you!!!
