Hindrances
A rune warrior needs to be able to move with little difficulty,
therefore they can not wear any armor above chain mail and may
never use a shield. Furthermore, because of the strange
fluctuations with magic in the area while they are doing their
runic technique, they may never use magical armor or swords with
a bonus greater than +1.
Wealth
Same as Class.
Benefits
A rune warrior has the ability to "attack" spells as
they are cast. This attack must be annonced at the begining of
the round. Then, he/she may decide to "attack" any one
spell that is cast during the round. Spells of 1st level have an
AC of zero, 2nd -1, 3rd -2, etc. If the rune warrior passes the
attack roll, the spell is negated. If he/she fails, the spell
continues normally. At DM's option, new and interesting effects
can be used for critical hits or failures.
In addition, a mage or thief rune warrior may wield any sized sword as if they were a fighter.
