"Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;"-Psalm 98:4
I (Sal) was chatting with a friend (Sabanna) of mine yesterday (Saturday, June 28th of 2007) and she was telling me how she becomes sad/depressed at times. I encouraged her by saying that I like to play praise and worshipmusic 24/7 on my radio (2 of them throughout the house) and would "try" to sing along-especialy in the morning to get me going for the day.
Stories in the Bible
"as the time when the Jews got relief from their enemies, and as the month when their sorrow was turned into joy and their mourning into a day of celebration. He wrote them to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor."-Esther 9

"A video report on WebMD maintains that laughter is not only "good for the soul," but studies have shown it to be advantageous to your physical health as well.
"Research shows laughter can improve your health," says the report. "It helps reduce stress hormones like cortizol and adrenaline, and plumps up immune system activity by increasing interferon, T-cells and white blood cells."

Dear David,
"Thank you for making me laugh this past Sunday (April 15th of 2007). I need it after a long weekend visiting my family members (please pray for my family) in St. Paul. I arrived eagerly back in Morris from the Twin Cities to see the rest of your show around 7:30pm (1 hour after it began). I laughed hysterically and was glad it lasted longer (yeah-intermission!) -I needed that extra laugh. Also, it was a blessing to meet the other family of believers in this small community. I attend Morris Community Church and it's awesome to get together with other churches in our community for one common purpose-Jesus Christ! God bless you and may He continue to use you to minister to others...

"The words and lyrics of the old Christmas carol 'Joy to the World' were written in 1719 by Isaac Watts (1674-1748). The father of John Watts was a Non-conformist and so extreme were his views that he was imprisoned twice. His father's influence over Isaac was demonstrated when he choose to attend Nonconformist Academy at Stoke Newington in preference to a University. Watts was ordained as a Pastor of an Independent congregation. He wrote many hymns and Carols and was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree by the the University of Edinburgh in 1728. The music to the carol is by George Frederick Handel (1685-1759)."
"Volunteers are the life-blood of many organizations and businesses. If you use volunteers, you depend upon their passion and commitment to get much of your work done. But utilizing volunteers is much more than making an appeal and then giving assignments to those who show up. They need to know they are a valued part of your business or organization. And they need to be appreciated and cared for, even as you appreciate and care for your staff.
This book offers you 101 ways to show appreciation to your volunteers - that's part of keeping them. We also offer tips on recruitment, placement, management, and retention of these very special people."
