Eric Bequeaith, trumpet player for Spry, reported Wednesday that the cut he received during a camping trip in mid August is now healing quite nicely. "I was using a dull hatchet and it bounced off the wood and cut all the way down to the bone," said Eric of his deep woods accident. "My first thought was, my god, I'll never play the sax again. I played a saxophone one time and I always wanted to do it again. I guess the doctor says I will be able to if I want. It will be an artistic decision that I will make when the time comes."
Showing the scar on his wrist late Wednesday night, Eric said, "People in this band keep getting hurt. I don't think anyone here is very spry at all. Why don't we call ourselves Big Heap of Dogshit. Then we'll end up all buff and never get hurt. We'll say, 'Yeah, I used to get hurt all the time in my old band, Spry. But now I've got a six pack, I'm super limber and agile, and feel great because I'm in the band Big Heap of Dogshit.'"
Later that night Eric broke his nose while trying to jump into the bell of his trumpet. More on that story as information developes.
