These photos were taken on March 10,2000 from 12:00 to 12:30pm near the junction of highways #1 and #16 in southern Manitoba. The direction is looking south. I noticed a very thick trail approaching from the east and continued off to the west. The trail just stayed there, very slowly spreading out. By the time the aircraft was on the west horizon the east trail was still there. A real smoker. I used a 28mm lense for the above photos. On March 9th there were 7 of these trails overhead and towards the south. Chembows were visible on some cloud edges and a chemhalo around the sun that day.
You will notice a chembow effect along the edge of the clouds on the photo above and below. Chemical rainbow.
50 mm lense
210 mm zoom-would only scan as b/w.
The aircraft has disappeared over the western horizon and the trail just spreads out.
This photo was taken at 1:30pm about 10 kilometers to the north of the location of the earlier photos.
KEEP LOOKIN UP!
