History

Grab a chair and sit on down.  Find out how the Wilkinson's came about.
The Wilkinson Saga
It all started when Amanda was really little.  Steve was writing songs and would sing to her.  When Amanda was 3 and a half her and her dad sang the song Grandpa by the Judds at their Grandma and Grandpa's 25th anniversary.  Soon after Tyler started singing with them around the house, but was too shy to sing in public.  At age 8 Amanda and Steve went up and performed a number with a house band at a county fair.  When asked to sing another number Tyler decided he wanted in and went up and sang Ball and Chain by Paul Overstreet with Amanda and Steve to a crowd of a few hundred.  The kids started singing harmony and were introduced to the music dad, Steve had grown up with such as The Beatles, and The Everly Brothers.  They started performing at bigger shows, even opening for American and Canadian acts when they did shows in Southern Ontario.
In the fall of '96 Steve broached the idea of moving to Nashville and got an unanimous vote of approval.  A month later, on September 15th 1997 they headed to Nashville.  2 weeks passed and they decided to go see a friend on writers night at The Broken Spoke.  When they got there they were invited to sing a few numbers.  3 days later a record label called.  And then 6 more, all wanting them to sing for them.  They decided to go with Giant Records and went to record Nothing But Love and set out across the country to promote it.  It had only been about a year when they had their first #1 single with 26 cents.
July 2001 saw The Wilkinsons facing a tough decision. Their record label, Giant Records was bought out by Warner Brothers. Should they go with Warner Brothers? Or should they find a new label? Due to some things they didn't like about the Warner Brothers contract the Wilkinsons felt it would be a good time to get out, so they left. After looking around at a few labels they decided to sign with BNA, a division of RCA. They are very excited to be a part of this new label and can't wait to work with them. Look for a single out early 2002, and an album out sometime later 2002.
