The End of an Era

The radio blasts a song
of heartache and of pain.
The tv teaches children
use might instead of brains.

An innocent young child
lies cold out in the street;
was wearing the wrong color;
now forever off his feet.

Pro-wrestlers play revenge;
millions are listening in;
forget the fun of playing;
matters only if you win.

A governor says the people,
join because they're weak;
his actions are disruptive;
his words seem to be greek.

The end of an era; come and gone; no more smiles; no more songs.
