Grouse Ridge Will, six-time champion, a brilliant performer and a notable producer won a host of admirers during his successful career. Grouse Ridge Will, the "Personality Setter" was the subject of the color insert in the Christmas Issue of the American Field, 1980. And was elected into the American Field, Field Trial Hall of Fame in 1981.

The fact is that Will’s genealogy makes clear why he was so adaptable, so able to adjust quickly to different environments, to show advantageously in widely different kinds of terrain and cover. Will instinctively accommodated himself to the country and had the native intelligence to hunt various game birds successfully, experienced on the use of wind knowledgeable about the habits of game. His consistency was a hallmark of his career, borne out by his 84 wins. Breaking it down further 40 of his wins were Open and 44 were Amateur. Will had 5 puppy placements 3 Derby wins and 76 in Mature competition.
