Sunday Night Showdown!

PPW was back again, and this time had something very different but effective for their amazing audience. The Trios Tournament! It consisted of twelve wrestlers, being put into four teams of three, then having a one night tournament to crown the next in line for PPW title shots. The man who scored the winning pinfall would face Demetrius Burrell next show, and the two on his side would get Dusty Griffith, and Garret Bishop. All was hectic, and a few surprises as always went down before the night was over.

Let the games begin!

The Trios tournament opened up with two of the three members of Team ELITE, Corey Butler and Carlos Rodriguez, teaming with “Gateway” JC Mason. They faced off against the hot upstart team in Donovan Deveraux and Boyd Turner, also known as Sin City Nightmare. They drew one of the best in Johnny Olympus. The action went back and forth as Butler and Deveraux put on a clinic to start. Turner came in and squared away with Rodriguez, in which the two went the same. Finally Olympus came in to a standing ovation, and went toe to toe with Mason. The action then continued until Deveraux was able to take out Mason, and hit him with his D-Driver, while his partners kept the others at bay.

The second half of the first round!

Team ELITE still had hope as Daniel Corey was up next. He had Aaron Williams and Chris Kaladaro as his partners, as they took on the team of Heatwave, Jesse Durant, and Deontre Jackson. Before the match could even start, Jackson feel asleep on the ring apron, in which was e relevant the entire match. Heatwave and Durant though dominated Williams, and even had things going their way with Kaladaro. Finally in the end, Heatwave and Durant couldn't settle things on who was getting the W for their squad, which caused Daniel Corey to blind tag the fallen Williams. He ran Heatwave into Durant, and rolled him up for the three count, and bailed on his own two feet.

Blast from the past, debut style!

Next up we had the debut of Jake Rockwell, as he took on one half of the PPW Tag Team Champions, Dusty Griffith. Everything we expected happened here, as both men went balls to the wall. Griffith not wanting to give a inch to the so called legend, yet Rockwell was not ready to lose his return to pro wrestling. In the end, a slight slip from Griffith caused Rockwell to hook the tights and gain the victory in his debut. He rolled to the floor after and just held his hands in the air, almost as if he was saying who cares, as Griffith sat on one knee, as he looked to Rockwell, motioning that he was just inches away from beating him. On a normal scale, and without the trunks, I could easily see a different outcome if the two do battle again in the future.

It's time to find our new contenders!

Daniel Corey, Chris Kaladaro and Aaron Williams all stood on the left, as Johnny Olympus, Donovan Deveraux and Boyd Turner stood on the right. Each figured out who would start our finals, as just before the bell ring, our new Assistant Manager, Mike Valley decided to make his way down to the ring, with a mic in hand. He began to let everyone know that in spirit of this random tournament, he thought it would be a fun idea to continue the random. He then decided he is going to swap teams! He then traded you could say, Daniel Corey for Johnny Olympus, putting Corey with the Nightmare, and Olympus with Williams and Kaladaro! The fans booed as they saw the enjoyment Corey had with all of this, some even noting that it was just to favor the guy.

The match started just as fast as the opener, as the two men that were traded began to go back and forth. Neither could gain the advantage until Kaladaro came in and began to take it to Turner. They worked Turner over for a good minute until he was able to low blow Williams, and get his team in control. Finally after a bit of working his back, he and Deveraux hit a double clothesline, dropping both men for a eight count. The hot tag ensued as Olympus began clearing house! Danie Corey was the man who got the other tag, and he was regretting that. Finally it was down to Williams and Corey in the ring, as the other four were fighting on the outside. Williams set up Corey for 'Simply Amazing' but Corey managed to sneak out the back door and hit his Pinnacle for the victory, and the shot at Burrell. Deveraux and Turner high fived one another as they knew their destiny was almost complete as they gained the shot at the tag champions.

Main Event, and how about it!

The building was going off the charts as Demetrius Burrell and Jason Ramsey locked eyes in the center of the ring, and then a clean handshake brought the roof off it's hinges, as the fans knew it was time for a clinic. The two had a excellent showcase of scientific wrestling to start us off, until Burrell took the advantage with his speed, taking Ramsey a bit back in the mix. Jason acknowledged the talent though and gave a nod, as the two locked back up to do battle again. This time though Ramsey was able to take control, and begin his own clinic.

Ramsey worked over the left leg of Burrell, trying to wear down the speed factor the champ has. Burrell would fight back a bit, but the continuous onslaught was too much for his leg. Although he wouldn't tap, Ramsey would not stop working on his leg, trying to gain the victor in the match. Burrell though finally rallied enough to gain the advantage only to be cut off again. Finally though this time through, Burrell was able to mount enough offense to get the ball rolling.

Burrell though went to the top for his High Rise, but Ramsey stopped him on the top, and went upstairs with him. Before you could blink, the two came crashing from the top with a superplex, causing both men to lay in agony. Just as the ref hit seven, the two men began to stir, at eight, they were on their knees. At nine though, the bell rung. Before you could say piss, Daniel Corey, Carlos Rodriguez, and Chris Butler hit the ring and begin putting the boots to Ramsey and Burrell. The three went on a onslaught to take the two out. The two set up Burrell, as Corey came in with a clothesline, but Burrell ducked as he leveled C-Rod. Ramsey then broke away from Butlers grasp, and hit a huge right hand, sending him to the canvas. Burrell then looked over to Daniel Corey, who fled without any bit of a thought, as the three made their way to the back, angered the attack failed. Burrell and Ramsey locked eyes again, as Ramsey nodded in approval as he raised Burrell's hand, as they announced the match was declared a no contest. The two hugged as the show went off the air, with a huge PPW chant to fade the show out from the great fans.
