I work for Eastend Homes as a Technical Co-ordinator, overseeing the Masterplanning process on the St. Georges Estate.
The masterplanning process involved working with architects, residents and the Estate Steering Group to provide proposals for the regeneration of the estate. This proposal was also part of “The Offer Document” on
which tenants voted as to whether they wanted Eastend Homes to be their new landlord.
The ballot was positive and we envisage that the transfer of the estate will occur this Winter.
As a Leaseholder the Council would have issued you with a copy of the “Leaseholder Consultation Document” produced by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Within this document there is a tick list/table identifying by block the refurbishment works proposed in the first 5 years if the transfer goes ahead. These works are so as to enable Eastend Homes to provide a planned programme of maintenance to ensure all properties remain in good
condition for 30 years and beyond.
Under House the Repair/renew of windows are included, I envisage that there will be renewal rather than repair due to the extent of the deterioration of the windows. Structural Repairs and repair/renew roof is
also identified on the list.
With regard to the heating to the dwellings works to “Internal Service Improvements” is identified. This can include works to the heating systems. Currently, there are warm air heating systems in this block which are fed off a communal system. We are investigating possible changes and working with the Estates Steering Group to come up with a viable option. One of the options is putting in a wet system (radiators).
