Ride A Wheelie: Great technical trick. helps develop your balance and strength, along with getting the feel of your new bike. 1- Do the same Steps as a wheelie. 2- Get your bike at a pretty high wheelie. 3- pedal. Bonus Tip- Sometimes if you get a very vertical wheelie lean towards the bar and this will balance you out. Do This often and you will get good long easy ride a wheelies. 4- If you start to fall back or get uncomfortable use you rear brake. 5- you did it.
Hop: No This is not a bunnyhop! but for beginners its a great first step. 1- Ride at a good slow to moderate speed. 2- Keep your pedals level. 3- stand up and have your head right above your front axle. 4- spring upward and forward with all of your weight. 5- thats it, just practice it. Don't do it like mountain bikers and use straps.
Endo: The Reverse of a wheelie. 1- slow to moderate speed. 2- pedals level. 3- apply front brakes. 4- push with arms on the handlebars and lean back for balance. Now go back down and when you back wheel hits the ground you can either use your back brake and then pedal forward and ride away. Or you can let go of the brake and roll backwards while pedaling backwards.
Drop Off: Rideing off of benches and walls doesnt mean you have to be an advanced rider. If you know how its a sinch. 1- Aproach the edge of what you are dropping off of. 2- keep your pedals level. 3- When there is little left for you to ride on pull a wheelie and ride off. Note- The faster you are riding the less of a wheelie you will have to pull. Bonus Tip- its easier to drop off the side of something rather than perpindicular just avoid accidentally grinding.
Manual- Same as a wheelie except you don't pedal. So im not going to tell you the same stuff except not to pedal. If you can't figure it out on your own, you shouldn't be riding. The only Thing I can tell you is a note. Note- This is almost an essential for drop offs and dirt jumps. You could pedal but it doesnt work well. Got the basics now learn ride. Ok you got the feel of your bike from the stuff above. Now its time to learn to ride.
Bar Hop 1-ride at a comfortable pace : not that fast. 2-keep your pedals level 3-Now quickly jump upand over your bars. 4-try to keep from hitting the center bar of your handlebars by tucking your legs up into your chest and keeping hour arms stiff and strait. 5-when you get right over the top of your handle bars kindof tap and holp your brakes for a second then let go 6-Now start scuffing. 7-there are many tricks to go with this
Bunnyhop: Jump on to things, off of things, over things, Grind, the possibilities are endless. 1- Keep your pedals level. 2- learn slow but not to slow of a speed. 3- Push away from your handelbars and then pull 4- spring upward and forwardand bring your legs up high. 5- land it. Note- its complicated to explain and difficult to do at first but you'll get the hang of it.
Fire Hydrant: The Beginning of flatland. 1- Ride at a slow speed 2- put your left pedal down. 3- move your right foot to the toptube or framestand 4- now with your left foot bring your left pedal to the forward position 5- move your left foot to your left front peg 6- use both brakes and turn the handle bars 90 degrees to the left. 7- use your front foot to push your front tire backwards. 8- now let go of the brakes and turn yourself to the other side of your bike by shifting your weight while scuffingand put your left foot on your back tire and your right foot on your frame stand. 9- go into other tricks.
X-up: most commonly used in dirt jumping but can be used in flatland too! 1- ride like normal. 2- Grip your seat with your knees 3. go slow of course for flatland and go high for dirt. 4- Now push your bar forward with your right hand and backward with you left hand. 5- dont let go of the grips. 6- do this till your handlebars are backwards then revers the process.
Bump Hop: Hitting a small bump can get you some big air if you follow these steps. There are 2 Methods to do this. 1-1- Ride at a moderate speed. 1-2- pull away from you bike stay behind the seat. 1-3- Hit the bump. 1-4- jolt upwards and forwards. 2-1- Same as the other methods step 1 (1-1-). 2-2- Hit the bump, and as soon as that happens, do a bunny hop.
Dirt Jump: Not the same as dirt jumping this is just the beginning. 1- aproach the dirt mound and either do a bump hop or 2- with plenty of speed pull back and spring upward leveling the bike out underneath you.
TailWhip: Good but hard flatland trick 1- ride at a slow to moderate speed 2- take your right foot over the toptube to the left side of your bike. 3- Hit the front brakes then stick your foot behind the front forksand lean the bike forward for a second and then left to back. This spins the bike around. 4- put your left foot on the top tube and the ride away or something.
