Hole and Manson to tour in spring
Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love already have two things in common: big
mouths and fake breasts. Don't expect them to share a tour bus as well.
Love's band, Hole, and Manson will co-headline a two-and-a-half-month
North American tour. The rock & roll soap opera might begin March 1st in
Seattle and will mostly hit arenas. "This pairing seems more suited for
the E! network than a rock show," says Dave Wyndorf, lead singer of
Monster Magnet, who have the privilege of being the opening band for the
festivities. "It's never a good idea to force rock stars to come
together, but it's always really entertaining."
Buckle up, Dave, Manson and Love have a long history of tumult in their
relationship. Recently, Manson slagged Love in an interview with the
British music weekly NME, saying, "Courtney never bothered to say hi to
me until I sold a million records. She's an opportunist, and I wouldn't
consider her a friend. I'm not interested in being anything with her."
But a source close to Manson says the two are currently "getting along
fine." Wyndorf, for one, can't wait to get started. "I love playing
music, but I love watching it even more," he says. "I'll be in the crowd
every night for this one."
