5 teams fold due to lack of funding, poor attendance, and mediocre play: Knights, Flying Pigs, Baylor Bears, Flashers, and The Barbies.
5 expansion teams inducted into league: The Dodgers, Diamond Kings, Assassins, Rock'em, AZ D-Backs.
"Say It Ain't So," team name, changed to "Axis."
"Hogs n Braves," team name, changed to "Hogs."
League name changed to "Holy Cow."

1999
2 teams fold due to financial constraints and owner apathy: Axis and Rock'em.
2 expansion teams inducted into league: T-Rays and BallBusters.

2000
2 teams fold due to financial constraints and owner apathy: Fielders of Dreams and Jack's Kids.
