Greetings to the family from Griffon LeStrange,

It was a short while ago that we were together in the heat of Summer at Lillies. Now winter is moving in and we are banking the hearth preparing for the cold.

In the realms of cyberspace are some pictures of Basarab's and William's devices at the following site. (Click on the shield to see them)

Wednesday, November 25

Boy, what a great week it has been. I reworked the Turkish helm that Sir Ivan Grimbearn, Calontir, gave to me. I cut the sides and head down to fit me better, and molded curled steel rod in the shape of a beard for the face. It is sweet! I will finish putting on the purple ribbon top flairs to simulate hair and a leather and aluminum camail for the neck hood. I plan on using it tonight at the Shire of Rudivale's fighter practice if I can be totally done with it by then.

Also, great news! Yesterday, after waiting for a call, I got the important job I had been hoping for. I had a choice between waiting for a job at the University of North Dakota Upward Bound Program or taking a job as a goldsmith apprentice. I had to make a decision by 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. I watched the clock, wondering if I would get the call. I did. At 3:30 pm. Upward Bound called me and asked me if I was still looking for a job [their job]. I certainly was, and took it in a heartbeat. I will work full time as a liason and advisor for a federal program that priviledges disadvantaged high school students with a summer at college, preparing them for their time there later. It will require a lot of travel, and have stress like other jobs, but I am happy about the pay and I believe in the program. I don't know if I'll be there long term, but for now, I am happy to be there.

I am still burning bright in the SCA by continuing my fighting training and working on Arts and Sciences stuff when I get the time. There always seems like there is too much to do in little time, but I remain positive. Life ain't so bad – I'm blessed with good family and friends, I'm still breathing, and God has something looking out for me it seems. Maybe my Grandma is up there helping me out, looking in on me from time to time. I love her so much. She died in 1991 when I was living in Germany. I see a lot of her in my mom. My deceased Grandma, my moms, and my wife are great guardian angels. God created something special in women. Well . . . I'm rambling. I just like women, that's all.

To everyone I would say this. Life can have its shadows, when you may feel or experience things that you just don't enjoy too much – we all have had those days or times. But, sure enough as the sun rises everyday, even if the clouds obscure its light, the light is there, and one day will shine through and fall upon you in its comforting and uplifting warmth. Of course, if you live in a desert you could use some clouds!!

Make lemonade out of your lemons. Stay grateful for all your blessings. Yeah!

Lord BASARAB the WARY

Greetings to all my Brothers and Sisters, It has been awhile since anyone has heard from me. I have been gone to school for 2 1/2 months in Texas and now I'm finaly back. I'm alive and well and with more energy than ever.

Well, well, what is this? It seems that only a few are keeping the Dream alive on the Internet! How can this be? It only taks a few minutes to return an email that someone has written.

Well I have a question for all Brothers and Sisters, and I would like to hear back from everyone.

Question: What can I do to re-kindle the Flame in the Phoenix?

Please do not let the Phoenix die! We will grow and become strong, I know. Before I left for school I emailed everyone and asked each of you to email someone who I've know for years. He and his wife are very interested in joining the Phoenix, but did anyone write to them? Here is their names and email address if you forgot.

Scott and Carol Wrymer, Email: wrymer@kih.net

I will tell you this, and this is from my heart, they are truelly worthy to be part of the Phoenix. I ask each of you to email them and introduce yourselves to them and say hello from the Phoenix. Do not let those who have the Dream die out.

We can only grow through each of you, keeping in contact with everyone, please do this.

Here is something for everyone, we have one member that does not have an email address. Maybe if we could write him a quick note and let him know that we are still with him.

It's Jason Kittle, if you need the address get with Griffon and he can tell you how to retrieve the newest address listing and phone listing on everyone. Well news has ran short for know. I hope to hear from each of you soon.

The Phoenix shall never die!!!!!

I will die first before the Phoenix does!!!!!
