Dilemma

I am so hopelessly lost!
The pain, it won't subside.
I have many roads to choose from
And now I must decide.

At this intersection are many
That could forever change my life,
But I must also think of others
And try not to cause any strife.

I try to look farther down the roads,
But my vision isn't clear.
I've looked around and asked for help,
But I still can't see what's there.

I think I will stay here for a while
And think this through and through.
But still my heart is yearning to know
What God wants me to do.

I have faith that He will come for me
And guide me on my way.
So here I will stand patiently
And wait for that blessed day.

I'll quietly keep my vigil
Through every day and night
'Til I know my answer for sure-
To go straight or left or right.

I don't want to be misled.
I don't want to go astray.
I don't want to have a setback,
So here I'll stand and stay.

I've prayed and prayed for an answer,
And stayed here for days on end.
I've read and read His Word,
And asked advice from a friend.

I haven't got my answer, yet,
As to which way to go;
But here I'll stand until I'm sure
That I'm sure that I do know.

He came for me and told me at last,
And now I'm off again.
My heart is now at ease until
The next intersection.
