Sonnet 1

When my thoughts to thee once again arise,
And my soul with the joyous birds doth sing,
My heart seeks out the pleasure thou dost bring
When thou art near. The mischief in your eyes,
I see too well. My softly uttered sighs
That no one hears - to me they loudly ring
Of time spent to prove it not a mere fling.
I'd buy with all the money I have lies
To feed myself that you would love me, too.
And patiently I sit and wait the day
When you love me the way that I love you;
For this I do hope and eagerly pray,
That you would be tested and found as true
As me, and my fears would all fly away.
