The True State of the Dead

ECCLESIASTES 9:5 "For the living know that they will die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they anymore a reward; for their memory is forgotten."

ECCLESIASTES 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."

ISAIAH 38:18 "For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth."

JOB 7:9 "As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more."

In Genesis we find that when GOD breathed into Adam's nostrils, "the breath of life", he became a living soul. All soul means is being; "a living being". It's like the lightbulb. When it's plugged in, the light glows, but when you unplug it, the light goes out. The electricity (breath of life) has to have the bulb (the body) to produce light. When you turn off the light, where does the light go. The electricity goes back to the source where it is stored and the light goes out. The same is true when you die. Your "spirit" or "breath of life" (which is the 'blueprint' of GOD's original and perfect creation of you) goes back to GOD where it is stored and your body goes back to dust. Then, when you are resurrected, the "breath" or "spirit" is given back to you and you live again. If you are part of the resurrected "righteous" you rise first, when Christ comes again and accend to heaven to be with Christ. If you are part of the resurrected wicked, you stay in the grave for 1000yrs. more, then you are resurrected for the final temptation of Satan, the last attack on GOD's people and the final judgement. At that time you will be punished according to the magnitude of your wickedness and receive eternal death.

When the Bible uses the word 'spirit' it has several different meanings. It can mean "Holy Spirit", which when used is always capitalized. It can also mean "in your heart" or "in your attitude". And, in some instances the scriptures speak of "the spirits of devils" or "demons" which refers to the fallen angels. The "spirit world" consists of good and bad. The good are for us. They provide for us, they protect us and they guide us. The bad are against us. They trick us, deceive us, steal from us, cause us to have accidents, to get sick, to have evil and incorrect thoughts, to have nightmares and the list goes on and on. Satan's plan is to steal as many of us away from GOD as he can, just like he did with the angels. His evil is beyond our imagination. He will always pick the most opportune time to attack you. It is usually when you are overloaded, or sick, or down in some way. He also likes to attack when you are preparing for a joyful occassion like a vacation, buying a new house or car, or getting a new job, expecting a child, etc. Anything to steal your joy, happiness and well-being is his goal.

One of the saddest things he does is impersonate lost loved ones. He gets you at your most vulnerable and painful moments. This is why you must know the truth and be on guard.

Satan cannot read your thoughts, but he and his demons can put thoughts into your head and because they are supernatural beings, they can do supernatural things, like impersonate humans or other living things. They can even manifest themselves into beings that are visible to us. This is why some people believe they have spoken to or seen their dead loved ones. No where does the Bible say there is an immortal soul. That is the lie of the devil. The first lie he told to humans was when he said to Eve, "You shall not die". Well, she surely did. It wasn't immediate. GOD never said it would be. But, as soon as she disobeyed GOD, who had given her the best life had to offer, the dying process started. If she had never listened to Satan and disobeyed GOD by eating the forbidden fruit, which represented sin, she would still be alive today.

So many lives have been hurt by this deceptive teaching of immediate resurrection and an immortal soul. I know of many sincere Christians who go to the cemetery and talk to their dead loved ones. The Bible says this is an abomination to GOD. There is a trend going around of hanging wind chimes near a grave and when they chime it's suppose to be the "spirit" of that person showing their presense. This is so foolish; but when a person is grieving, they just want comfort and don't think about it making sense or being Biblical. This is "emotional spiritism" not Christianity, and it can lead you into nothing but destruction. The Bible says Satan will appear as an angel of light and declare himself to be GOD. How can you be prepared so as not to be fooled when that awful day comes? Follow the Bible and the Bible only, no matter what the majority teach or believe. The Holy Bible is the "Word of God". (just my opinion here folks; but, stick to the traditional translations. The newer ones try to bring GOD down to our level and water down his truths so as to make it more palatable to the masses) The Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD, and the word was GOD". Believe every word my dear friends. The Old and the New Testaments. GOD never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The Bible says, "only GOD is immortal". Anything else is a lie. Immortality for the saved does not come until Christ's 'second coming' and the 'first resurrection'. The Bible is absolutely clear on this.

Rev. 20:4-6 - And I saw thrones and they sat on them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads (in their minds) or on their hands (in their actions). And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years (if these 'saints' went to heaven as soon as they died, then many would be there much longer than a thousand years. This clearly shows the time frame when we are in Heaven.) BUT THE REST OF THE DEAD (the wicked unbelievers) LIVED NOT AGAIN UNTIL THE THOUSAND YEARS WERE FINISHED. This is the 'first resurrection'. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the 'first resurrection': on such the second death (which is permanent) hath no power, but they shall be priests of GOD and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

I Cor.15:51-54 - Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.(made anew; sinless) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal 'MUST PUT ON' immortality. (GOD says you 'must put on immortality. If you already had it you wouldn't need to put it on! God gives it to you as your reward, your gift, your inheritance and you receive it with greater humility and gratitude than you've ever known, then you put it on. This is His robe of righteousness that is given to us). So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, THEN shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

I Thes. 4:13-18 - But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are ASLEEP, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which SLEEP in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (go before) them which are ASLEEP. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a SHOUT, WITH THE VOICE OF THE ARCHANGEL, AND WITH THE TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain (through tribulation) shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Please notice the order of these events.

1) Lord shall descend with a shout

2) the voice of the Archangel

3) the trumpet of GOD

4) the dead in Christ rise first

5) dead in Christ and those that are still alive in Christ will be made incorruptible and immortal

6) those that are alive (Bible says the wicked will die at the brightness of HIS coming) shall be caught up with 'them'

7) and remain with the Lord forever.

In John 6:40, John says: "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the 'last day'."

A couple of clear examples you may want to research and prayerfully consider are #1-when Christ resurrected Lazurus and #2-when He rose Himself. Both were whole bodied as before. Lazurus had been in the grave for several days. When Christ called him, He said, "Lazurus, come forth!". He didn't call up to heaven and command His beloved friend to come down. He said, "Come forth" and still wrapped in graveclothes, Lazurus came out of the tomb and continued his life as before.

When Christ rose from the dead, He told His disciples He was not a spirit and proved it by showing His scarred hands and wounded side.

All of paganism, satanism, new-age, etal. are hinged on the false doctrine of an immortal soul.

Consider this scenario: You are crossing a busy street and a little Volkswagon beetle bumps you and you fall to the pavement hitting your head. You are knocked unconsious during which time you know absolutely nothing. After a few minutes you come to your senses and dust yourself off and continue across the street. Not fully attentive, you are struck from behind by a huge eighteen wheeler. You are killed as they say "stone cold dead" and all of a sudden 'you know everything'! I ask you; does this make sense? Of course not, and GOD does not ask us to believe that which is not logical. He is a perfect GOD making perfect sense and perfectly logical in all that He does.
