Mabon/Autumnal Equinox/Harvest Home/Michaelmas

circa September 21

Mabon is a minor Sabbat thought to mark the first full day of Autumn; however, it represents mid-Autumn, or the height of Autumn. Traditionally it was celebrated on the day which the Sun entered Libra. It is the time when the Light once again balances the Dark. The God of Light (Llew) is defeated by his twin (Balor) the God of Darkness. This is the time when the Goddess is at Her most bountiful.

Things Generally Associated With Mabon: cornucopia, corn, the harvest, thanksgiving, making offerings to the land, preparing for cold weather, the colors orange, red, and brown.

This is a time for reflection. It is the Resting Tide.
