Located Northeast of Atlanta is Baker Farms, my home. This piece of land was purchased for $175 an acre, it is now the hub of several small crop and cattle farms in Macon County. In 1999 Club Calves and Simmental Cattle became a tradition at Baker Farms, with much success. One of the most successful show steers in the state, dubbed "Chunky," was born and bred at Baker Farms. He is pictured above as well as a Simmental Foundation Female.
There are several names for the above farm, but it is owned by my Grandparents, Caryl and Phyllis Carter of rural La Plata. Formerly known as Clover Ridge, this farm was once one of the greatest sources of Angus Cattle in Northern Missouri.
My uncles, Daryl and Mike Carter, also help operate this and other farms East of La Plata. They also own a commodity transporting business, Carter Bros. Trucking.
