In 2000, Atlanta C-III Schools were introduced to a new organization. Because of efforts of the Comprehensive School Improvement (CSIP) Committee, a vocational-agriculture program was established in Atlanta to provide adequate vocational education to Atlanta students.
Chartering officers were myself as president, Weston Gaughan as Vice President, Anita Cavendar as Secretary, and Heather Pegelow as Treasurer. The Atlanta FFA is still growing today.
Prom is always a highlight of any high school career. In 2000, prom was held in Moberly at the Heartland Banquet Center. The next prom was held at the Kirksville Country Club.
A great teaching staff is a tradition at Atlanta C-III. Some of my favorite and most influential teachers were Judy Harvey, English; Tanya Tatro, Mathematics; and Kate Bergan, Spanish. These women were inspirations as spiritual leaders, knowledgeable individuals, and genuinely caring people.
Who could forget friends? Great friends make leaving high school and moving to college a difficult transition. Great friends back home are hard, if not impossible, to replace.
