Leatherberry, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2004. He was born on Nov. 1, 1917, in Woodland Township, the son of the late Thomas Jay and Tressie (Mortimer) Leatherberry. Bonard graduated from Lodi High School in 1936, and was a longtime farmer. On Aug. 15, 1942, he was united in marriage to the former Dorotha Youngs. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Lodi American Legion Post No. 216. Bonard was a member and elder of the Lodi Presbyterian Church, a former town of Arlington board chairman and also a member of the Lodi Optimist Club. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorotha Leatherberry; a son, Gary (Diane) Leatherberry; three daughters, Bonita (Harold) Prucha, Gale (Ronald) Nelson and Lori (Jeff) Harrenstein, all from Lodi; nine grandchildren, Gary Jay (Stacy Anaker) Prucha, Craig Prucha, Kristen Prucha, Debra (Robert) Volk, Angela (John) Griffing, Thomas (Jennifer) Leatherberry, Richard (Julia) Nelson, Kimberly Nelson and Jeremy Harrenstein; seven great-grandchildren, Robby, Jared and Ann Volk, Emily and Lily Griffing, Maysn Prucha and Christopher Nelson; a brother, Iver (Lucille) Leatherberry; a sister, Donna Quamme; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bonnie Jean Leatherberry; a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Luella Leatherberry; a sister, Opal Arlene Leatherberry; and a brother-in-law, Dwaine Quamme. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2004, at the LODI PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, with the Rev. Dr. Steven Bremer officiating. Interment with military rites will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2004, at the HAMRE FUNERAL HOME in Lodi.
