Samuel Mann built first store.

Davis brothers & Benson built second store.

Alonzo McCoon opened first post office.
1867
Dr. Thompson arrived.
1868
Dr. Thompson started first Grist Mill.
1870
Clemens store was built.
Railroad going through Wonewoc.

Wesleyan Methodist Church started.
Jabez Brown taught school in Valton.
Friends Church organized.

Wis. State Holiness Association hold camp meeting on Friend's Church grounds.
1913
First shares sold for Valton Coop Creamery.
1914
Big storm blows camp meeting tent down. No one hurt.
Rev. Hatfield holds meeting at Friends Church.
Moved Post Office to big store.
1919
J.H. Woertendyke lectured on prohibition in WM.. Church.
1915
Schools & Churches closed when Diphtheria struck.
Joe Henderson's house burned (Jan. 23).
Biggest snow storm in years (Feb. 1).
Friends parsonage was built.
Farmer's Club debate "Resolved that we should stop the was in Mexico".
Commencement in Pratt-Stearne Hall (15 graduates).
Post Office closes permanently.
Farmers picnic on James Mortimer farm north of Valton.

Walt & Ethel Stearns sell interest in big store.
Ice froze on standing water (Aug. 30).
Wilson Mortimer sold his store to Alfred Gage of Tripp-Ville.

Sunday school classes organized, Rev. Sidney Hotchkiss was teacher.

1918
Wesleyans bought parsonage.

Ice storm strips trees of limbs (Feb.22).
Booklet of regulations issued by Cemetery Association.
1923
Friends put basement under their Church.
1928
Two story school building torn down and brick structure built.
1934
Wesleyan Church addition built.
1936
The Coop. Creamery burned.

Note: During the years 1905-06, 1914-15 you'll notice that more things seemed to happen. The fact is that I was able to find them recorded in dairies by Hattie Smith. The list of events would be much longer if more such dairies had been available. If you know of any dairy among your treasures, I would appreciate the privilege of examining it for the purpose of making this history more complete.
