He was the last surviving member of the original Celeryville settlers. He was active as a vegtable grower all his life and was secretary of the Golden Rule Association of Vegetable Growers in Celeryville. He was a member of the Celeryville Christian Reformed church. He is survived by his wife, Bessie; two sons, Henry J. of Celeryville and Raymond of North Freedom, Wisc.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Sam Postema and Mrs. Ed Sharpless, both of Celeryville. The service was conducted by Rev. Clarence DeHaan in the Christian Reformed church, and burial was in Maple Grove cemetery in New Haven. Funeral arrangements were made by the Fink Funeral Home.
