Mrs. Mary Freund, 94, Dane county resident for 84 years, died today at her home, 2801 Center ave., following a two-month illness.
Born in Germany, Mrs. Freund came to this county when she was 3 years old. She moved to Madison 35 years ago from Cottage Grove. She was a charter member of the Hope Lutheran church.
Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Anna Brinkman, Mrs. Sophie Weckesser, Mrs. Sarah Herrling, Minnie Schwibbe, Madison: Mrs. Mary Bultman, town of Burke; Mrs. Pauline LaSchum, Detroit; Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher, town of Blooming Grove; Mrs. Carrie Fry, Red Cloud, Neb.
Four sons, Julius, Henry, August, Madison; Walter, Chicago; 45 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 Sunday in the Schroeder chapel, and at 2:30 in the Hope Lutheran church, with the Rev. H.C. Neeman officiation. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Weckesser, Clarence Bultman, Edward LaSchum, Henry Brinkman, Archie Herrling, William Freund.
