Mrs. Herbert Topham
Services for Mrs. Topham will be a 1 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Stratford. The Rev. Merlin Schlichting of St. John's American Lutheran Church, Town of Wien, will officiate. Judy Polege will be the organist.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Wayne Kroening, Leon Telschow, Grodon Telschow Lonnie Topham, Larry Topham and Alan Snyder. Burial will be in the Knowlton Cemetery, in the Town of Knowlton.
Friends may call to the Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home in Stratford beginning at 4 p.m. today and on Friday until 11:30 a.m. and then at the church from noon until the time of service.
Mrs. Topham, the former Mary Reynolds, was born on Sept. 20, 1887, in Rainy River, Ontario, Canada and received her education there.
On Nov. 21, 1907* she married Herbert Topham at International Falls, Minn.. He died in July 1957. After their marriage they resided in Dancy. They later lived in Fenwood, Edgar and Marathon, operating hotels there for a number of years. Mrs. Topham was also a telephone operator in those areas. After the death of her husband she resided in Vesper, operating the telephone exchange there for a time. She then moved to Janesville to reside with her daughters.
Mrs. Topham lived in Janesville for the past 20 years.
She is survived by one son, Elgin of Kenosha, three daughters, Mrs. Emiline Kroening and Mrs. Eugene (Rossa) Snyder both of Janesville and Mrs. Reinhold (Mildred) Telschow of Stratford; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, one brother and two sisters.
