It all started sometime in 1995 (that year is "a little" foggy). I was calling BBS's (only those of advanced intelligence know what REAL BBS's are, and NO they don't have anything to do with the internet) and decided to download a Program called Renegade. I worked many hours on this program, ultimatly giving up. But much ground was gained, I established a name "The Rise of Darkness", well, a TEMPORARY name at least. I guess that wasn't THAT much ground, but, then again... It sucked. And I didn't have a dedicated line for it. So I scrapped Renegade and went right to work on a program called "PCBoard". Now, my highly elevated intelligence told me that "The Rise of Darkness" was not the name I had in mind. And after many seconds of pondering I came up with the name "ThE AsyLuM". And a Legend was born. Some of you from the 5i4 area might have heard of it. It was a pretty good warez board that sometimes gave away too many free credits. But all in all, it was a very successful venture. I started getting 0-2 day warez at one point. Contentness was mine. But, all good things must come to an end, and inevitably, so did this. My BBS inevitably lost it's uploaders, and I shut it down. Here is an advertizement from my BBS before it shut down.
Now as we enter the Information age, I had to give up with BBS's. They were a dying breed. And by now, most of my friends already had it. So I had to abandon base. And so after having it for a month or two, on Monday April 13, 1998, I made my webpage. But I ran into a stalemate. The name "ThE AsyLuM" belonged to so many other sites. So I had to take another name, but it had to include AsyLuM somewhere. So I came up with AsyLuM Inc. (With a little help from "Sanitarium Inc.") Finally, Today being the 6th of November, 2001, the site is going under a MAJOR overhaul. Despite the fact that the old site did not work what so ever I decided that I coudl still salvage some of it. So what you see before you is a mix 'n match of what the old site was, and what the new site is going to be (will never be??). Well, I hope that these moments we've spent together were spiritually uplifting, or, something of the sort.
