If the terrorists really want to beat America in this war, what they ought to do is just stop attacking us.. Here we are, in the middle of Iraq... half of Americans don't even know why we're there.. The left has told us that Iraq is a distraction from the war on terrorism.. They tell us that Usama bin Laden is an Islamic Fundamentalist and Saddam Hussein governed a secular regime.. Saddam would not help bin Laden, because bin Laden hates Saddam as much as he hates America.. And we're reminded every day that there are no terrorists in Iraq every time a bomb goes off in Baghdad, or some radical sheik calls on his followers to kill Americans.. The left's idea of fighting the war on terrorism is to wait for a bomb to go off, arrest some Muslims, (and occasionally some white people because we wouldn't want to appear racist) give them the Bill Of Rights and an attorney (probably a French one), and let them argue in an American court why they felt like they had to kill innocent people.. Luckily, most Americans still prefer the old fashioned way to fight terrorism, which is to hunt down our enemies where they live and kill them.. There is no room for error in the war on terrorism, because a mistake could not only result in a catastrophic loss of lives, but also in policy change, (which wouldn’t be such a bad thing if it weren't the Democrats implementing the new policy).. I know most of the theatrics put on display by the Democrat Party is just politics, but seriously, they wouldn’t have to scream to make their points heard if they had actually been right about anything in the last four years.. I remember that there was a new excuse for not going to war each week leading up to the Iraq war.. Nancy Pelosi was telling us that thousands of American boys would be coming home in body bags.. I think she was even claiming tens of thousands would die.. (She probably thought that Saddam was going to use all of those nukes that he didn’t have..) At any rate, after we kicked Iraq's ass in a few weeks, the critics switched from how long and hard this war would be to how quick and easy it was, like they wanted more troops to die.. And that's just one example.. I bring this up because if the Democrats would start being right about something, anything, then Americans might start listening to them.. That's when we're truly fucked.. Like I said, if the terrorists really want to beat America, they should quit validating President Bush’s warnings of terrorism.. The terrorists should allow the Democrats to prove to Bush how there aren’t any terrorists in Iraq.. As soon as Kerry can claim, "See, I told you so," rather than his current strategy of criticizing every effort the President makes to fight terrorism without offering any insight as to how he would successfully fight terrorism differently, Americans would lose their faith in the President, and Bush’s days in Washington and International Affairs would be through.. I suppose now is as good a time as any to mention Ted Kennedy.. I think he’s started drinking again, because no sober person who is supposed to be a respected politician elected to represent his constituent’s beliefs would say the kind of things he’s saying in public… or on the Senate floor no less! I think in the 60s, when they were assassinating Kennedys, they got the wrong ones.. But back to my point, if the terrorists really want to beat America in this war, what they ought to do is let the Democrats win it for them..
