Do the Iraqi people really want us occupying their country..? Many conservatives believe whole-heartedly that the majority of Iraqi people are happy to have American troops patrolling their streets keeping them safe from violent insurgents, but there are just as many liberals who make claim that the Iraqis absolutely do not want us there.. I’ve seen plenty of evidence supporting both theories, and the conclusion that I’ve come to is who really gives a shit what the Iraqi people want..? Yea, it’s their country, but who invested money and lives into the liberation of Iraq..? Most Iraqis didn’t want Saddam Hussein as their leader either… so even if they feel threatened by our troops, at least they have hope.. Hope of a democracy.. Hope that one day American troops will leave and they will have the ability to govern themselves.. Hope that wasn’t present underneath the repression of Saddam Hussein.. To argue whether or not Iraqis want American forces occupying their country is like pondering over whether or not black people wanted LAPD in their neighborhoods during the riots.. Just fucking deal with it..
