History: Lion Voltron originated on Planet Arus at the Castle of Lions belonging to Arus's great King Alfor. Alfor ordered and oversaw the building of the giant robot by his scientists unknown to his enemies. When the time came that his creation had to be used, he launced the robot against King Zarkon of Planet Doom's forces and prevailed. However, King Zarkon hired an evil witch by the name of Haggar to destroy Voltron. Haggar posed as the Space Goddess and as Voltron drew near to her she attempted to destroy him but only accomplished breaking the great robot into five pieces; five lions. These lions fell back to Planet Arus and the myth of Voltron grew throughout the Universe. The series takes place here, when five space explorers are sent to Planet Arus to reserect the mighty robot.
