Boyd Deveraux

Boyd was first noticed by us when he was drafted 6th overall by the wonderful and magnificent Oilers in the 1996 NHL Draft. One reason Stacy thought he was cool was because he was drafted after Richard. Others of us just thought he was nice. None the less, Boyd is a centre and a good player, also. He's a bit of a Canadian hero after his GW goal in the gold medal game of the 1997 World Junior Championships for Canada. He played two years with the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL and averaged more than a point per game. Currently he's struggling as rookie for the Oilers, but his future looks bright. He has very good speed, is a very good playmaker, and is unselfish. He's also a solid competitor and has a lot of hockey sense. Boyd is tres inteligent aussi. He won the 95-96 CHL Scholastic Player of the Year award. Paul Kariya is his favorite player, and he tries to emulate his playing style. And if you ever see one of us, ask us how one of his Oiler teammates referred to him in front of E in Novemeber. BOYD!!!!
