The Tragic End of the Turkey Named Bread

Explanation and Mission

This one requires some explanation for those of you who are unaware of what a "bread turkey" is, otherwise the artistic statement will be lost on you. Most people are unaware that certain breeds of turkeys are killed not for their meat, but for their bread. Vegans and vegetarians virtually everywhere have probably eaten bread made in whole or part from turkeys. The bread industry has kept this from the public for years as sales would drop drastically and millions of dollars of profit would be lost. It's been a well kept secret because people either don't care about the welfare of bread turkeys, or they think that the idea of bread being made out of turkeys is ridiculous and impossible. Consequently, bread turkeys all over the country and world are suffering terrible living conditions and inhumane slaughter. PETA and the Humane Society are just beginning to recognize their plight and start to act. The poem and art below were created to help raise awareness about bread turkeys. I have posted it because even I, the DeathBringer, was compelled by the story of Bread Turkeys (plus, I'm only interested in the death of people, not animals.)Please help us spread the word about bread turkeys, and make a donation to the animal rights organization of your choice.
