Connie Alice Kays
My name is Connie Alice (Brooks) Kays. My nickname is Susie Q. (That's a long story!) I was born in Mo., in 1947, and have lived there ever since. I have been retired on Disability with Rheumatoid Arthritis, since 1992. I went to school from the 3rd to the 8th grade in a little one and a half room schoolhouse called, Dean School, near Rolla, Mo. Only three kids in my class. Spent almost a year at Roosevelt High, when my family moved to St. Louis, Mo. Then back to Rolla, where I graduated from Rolla High. My favorite things then were; Choir, rollerskating, (Pretty good at both), and my bestfriends, Sherri and Susan.
In the past, I have worked for the telephone co. as a long distance operator; as a civil servant, at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; tried to be a hairdresser and a cake-decorator; and spent awhile trying to be an over the road truck driver. But, I spent 22 years working with the mentally and physically handicapped. I enjoy playing Bingo, doing crafts, and reading, but other than my family, the passion of my life is GENEALOGY. I have only been researching my family for a few years, but I'm hooked! So, before I put you to sleep, I'll quit so you can check out my ancestors. Hopefully, you will be a long-lost cousin, who also does research, and has the family tree back to the Mayflower. But, even if not, holler at me, and we'll compare notes.
